We humans honor Ata Bey for her amazing fertility, the ability to issue forth and nourish Life. This ability manifests itself graphically in the cycles of the moon because these cycles reflect very publicly in the vastness of the sky the same cycles that occur more privately within the hidden recesses of a woman’s womb.

The menstrual shedding of blood which women experience every twenty-eight days mirror the periodic rise and fall of the tides in the blood of the Earth, the sea.

The Full Moon Ceremony is an act of homage to the Earth Mother and her lunar avatar. Women take the lead roles and play the key parts in this monthly drama.
